Kids Fun on the Beach at The Oracle Reading
Over the summer holidays, The Oracle shopping centre have some free kids activities. Every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout August there will be kids Fun on the Beach activities with a different theme each week. Between 11am and 4pm there will be children’s story telling, singing, games and free arts and crafts on the riverside.
Each week there will be a sea theme – from a day on the beach to sea kings and mermaids. There will be different crafts to do such as decorating shells, making wind chimes and magnets.
Grown ups can take their children along, or pre-book online (which is advised in case it’s busy). Each session lasts around one hour. Children can listen to a story, play games and join in with sea-themed songs, and they have plenty of time for arts and crafts. If your child doesn’t want to join in with the songs and games, they can just do the crafts.

The free kids Fun on the Beach activities at the Oracle are great if you want to spend some time shopping the summer sales, or finding a nice place for lunch.
The Oracle is an indoor shopping centre which comes out to the riverside – where there is the Vue cinema, bars and restaurants. There are plenty of events taking place to keep you entertained.
Weekly Kids Fun on the Beach Themes
The fun on the beach runs from 2nd August until 31st August. Each week has a different theme with story telling and games.
Week one: Day at the Beach. Decorate your own sea shell and on the second day make a beach bag.
Week two: Mermaid and Sea Kings. Decorate you own sea shell and make a wind chime on the second day.
Week three: Under the Sea. Decorate shells and on day two turn a large shell into a sea creature.
Week four: Treasure Island. Shell decorating and on the second day make a pirate sword and treasure map.
Week five: Tropical Beach Party. Colour in sea shells and on the second say make sand art magnets.
